Alibaba has launched HappyShrimp 1.0, an AI music-generation model designed to turn natural-language descriptions of emotions, stories or musical ideas into complete songs.
Users can reportedly specify lyrics, instruments, vocal styles, song structure, emotional development and narrative direction. The system can also generate instrumental music or compose around lyrics supplied by the creator.
Alibaba says HappyShrimp will collaborate with Taihe Music Group on artist co-creation and music-content development.
Why it matters: HappyShrimp represents another potential competitor to Suno, Udio and MiniMax Music. Its emphasis on ordinary conversational instructions could make detailed AI music prompting more accessible, although its output quality and international availability still require independent evaluation.
