Ukrainian threat-intelligence nonprofit Terrecon says it identified 981 tracks showing signs of AI generation and pro-Russian war messaging after examining 3,725 tracks across YouTube, YouTube Music, SoundCloud and Suno.
The researchers logged propaganda keywords in 681 songs and said generators including Suno and Udio made high-volume production faster and cheaper. The songs have also circulated through major services including Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer, according to reporting cited in the analysis.
The report does not establish that the Russian government directly created or controlled the tracks. It does show why an AI label alone cannot solve the problem: disclosure can identify synthetic production, while violent, hateful or manipulative lyrics still require separate content-moderation decisions.
For platforms and legitimate AI artists, the marketing stakes are immediate. Large propaganda catalogs make provenance, accountable artist identities and visible AI disclosures more important because trustworthy creators must be distinguishable from coordinated influence campaigns.
