TIDAL is allowing fully AI-generated music to remain on its platform, but those tracks receive an AI label and cannot earn royalties or generate direct-to-fan sales.
The policy targets music generated entirely by AI. It does not prohibit musicians from using AI tools as part of a substantially human creative process.
TIDAL also says it will remove AI-generated releases connected to impersonation, listener deception, fraudulent activity or manipulation of streaming statistics.
For AI music artists, the practical issue is disclosure and documented human involvement. Creators should retain lyrics, recordings, project files and other evidence showing their creative contributions.
The coverage was published August 15, although the underlying TIDAL policy took effect earlier. TIDAL’s official explanation confirms the platform’s current rules for AI-generated music. Read TIDAL’s official AI policy.
No new AI-music announcement from the U.S. Copyright Office or Library of Congress was found within the three-day reporting window.
