Source: Music Business Worldwide — Universal Music Group licenses TYGER
Universal Music Group signed a licensing agreement with TYGER, a gaming-music service that uses AI to adapt authorized songs as gameplay changes.
Select recordings and compositions from Universal’s recorded-music and publishing catalogs will appear on TYGER’s paid subscription service, with some recordings also available on its free ad-supported tier. The companies say Universal is the first major music company to license the platform.
TYGER says its technology can work across PC, console and mobile without requiring game developers to integrate it directly. The service adapts licensed music around events such as movement or turns during gameplay.
Is TYGER generating unauthorized replacements for Universal artists? The announced product is a licensed adaptive-music service using selected catalog material, not an open prompt generator for copying artists.
