Universal Music Group, Sony Music and DistroKid told a federal court they are working toward resolving a subpoena dispute over DistroKid’s data on recordings flagged as AI-generated and attributed to Suno.

The labels want monthly figures showing how many recordings DistroKid tested, how many its prediction model classified as likely AI-generated, the streams and royalties attached to those tracks, and how many were linked to Suno. They argue that the data could help measure market effects in their copyright case against the AI music company.

DistroKid has until November 6 to respond to the labels’ request for a court order. The filing does not reveal the proposed resolution, and the court has not ordered DistroKid to produce the requested information.

Has DistroKid agreed to identify every Suno track it distributed? No. The parties reported negotiations, but neither a completed agreement nor a disclosure order was announced.
