Source: Suno — Start Songs with MIDI
Suno Pro and Premier subscribers can now upload MIDI files in Simple Create on desktop web, giving the AI specific notes and timing before a text prompt defines the instrumentation and style.
MIDI contains performance instructions rather than recorded sound. A creator can ask Suno to follow a written part closely, develop one motif into a larger arrangement or reinterpret old session data with different instruments.
At launch, MIDI creation uses Suno’s v6-wild model. Suno says the feature supports .mid and .midi files and plans to expand its capabilities over time.
Practical takeaway: This gives composers more control than a text-only prompt, but creators should preserve the source file and compare the generated notes carefully. Suno is interpreting musical data, not importing a finished audio performance.
