YouTube is expanding its AI-powered “Replace song” option, giving eligible creators four royalty-free instrumental tracks that can replace claimed music and automatically clear a Content ID claim when the copyrighted audio is fully removed.
The tool creates four three-minute instrumentals inside YouTube Studio. Creators can preview, download, loop, place, and adjust the volume of a generated track without writing a prompt.
YouTube says the feature is available in most countries outside the European Economic Area. It is not yet in the Studio mobile app, and the generated tracks are intended only for YouTube content.
Why it matters: This is a practical AI music workflow, not a novelty generator. It turns copyright remediation into an in-platform editing step, but creators should confirm the replacement covers every claimed segment before saving because Studio edits cannot be reversed.
