Video-native AI audio company Sonilo is partnering with Musical AI to measure how licensed recordings and compositions contribute to generated music, with the goal of connecting attribution to rightsholder compensation.

Sonilo creates music and sound effects from video, text or both. Under the announced partnership, Musical AI’s technology is expected to analyze outputs and assess influence separately for sound recordings and underlying musical compositions.

This addresses a problem that licensing alone does not solve: determining which authorized works contributed value to a particular output. If the system works as described, it could create a more traceable route from generation to attribution and payment.

Verification note: The companies have announced the approach, but the cited report does not provide independently audited accuracy results or public payment data. Those details will determine whether the model delivers meaningful transparency in practice.
