Apple is adding a beta intelligent assistant to Logic Pro for Mac, along with improved drum separation, music-aware sound search and a redesigned Browser that can incorporate a creator’s Splice library.

Apple says the assistant combines Apple-built models with OpenAI technology. It can help users begin a song, configure a vocal track from a prompt, navigate production workflows and refine an active project.

The enhanced Stem Splitter will isolate, replace or rebalance drum parts without original multitracks. Logic Pro will also analyze and tag imported sounds on-device, helping producers search their own libraries or locate audio that matches a selected loop.

Availability: Apple says the Creator Studio updates will arrive in November as a free update for existing subscribers. The assistant is initially a beta feature, so creators should evaluate its actual workflow performance after release.
